Description
A well-established, fast-growing solar company based in Boulder, CO is looking for detail-oriented solar installers to join our team. This position will assemble, install, or maintain solar and battery systems that live up to the highest quality standards of our company. This may include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. We train our installers to develop them into Installation leads and provide growth opportunities within the company. We seek out teachability and a strong work ethic. All team members participate in a company profit-sharing plan to ensure that hard work and success are recognized and compensated. Solar experience is helpful but not required. The apprentice-level position is a great opportunity to start your career in solar. A flexible work environment that slows down in the winter for those who love to ski. Duties & Responsibilities
● Effectively work with a team to install and seal roof attachments, equipment racking supports and solar panels while prioritizing safety
● Perform all construction tasks per manufacturer’s installation guidelines
● Prepare and connect solar cables per manufacturer’s installation guidelines
● Perform site survey activities with a team and independently
● Review job installation plan with the Crew Lead
● Assist in tracking inventory for each project
● Prepare, load and organize installation vehicles. Warehouse organization required also
● Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety
● Troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
● Clean up the job site
Related Experience and Educational Requirements
Minimum requirements:
● Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance required
● Must be able to lift heavy objects (50 lbs.), climb ladders, and work in high places.
● Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
● Ability to travel between job sites
Preferred Requirements
● Experience in electrical or construction trades
● OSHA 10 Certification
● Strong understanding of NEC codes, especially PV-related
● Experienced installation of modern PV systems or related training
● Excellent customer service skills
● Associates and 2+ years related experience
Compensation and Benefits
● Apprentice (little to no experience): $20-24/hr
● Installer (1-3 years experience): $24-28/hr
● Lead Installer (3+ years and leadership): $28-32/hr
Paid Time Off
● Year 1: two weeks
● Year 2: three weeks
● Year 3+: four weeks
