COMMERCIAL SOLAR IN BOZEMAN

The 129-year-old St. James Episcopal Church in Bozeman, Montana now features a 14.57 kW solar power system on the roof of its Todd Center building installed by Independent Power . The church will save approximately $2,266 in its first year using the system, and savings will grow annually.

In 2019, the church received a $20,000 Universal Systems Benefit (USB) grant from Northwestern Energy to help offset the cost of installing the solar panels on its roof. Only the second Diocese of Montana to go solar, St. James Bozeman believes its new solar panels will help fulfill several important organizational goals such as being good stewards of the earth as well as The Episcopal Church’s Creation Care goals.

Read the Bozeman Daily Chronicle article on faith groups and climate action that features the St. James Episcopal Church solar system.

St. James Bozeman’s solar power system was featured in Diocese of Montana July 2019 newsletter.
